This design is difficult to describe--rounded squares within negative space, implied circles, and hexagonal patterning in combination. And to me it just feels 'mechanical'. What's even more intriguing is that when I first sat down with this LEGO element I thought that this was the one LEGO part that I likely couldn't leverage for what I do. How wrong I was.
